The Transcendent Runner collection draws on the philosophy of the British Idealist FH Bradley (1846-1924), who rejected the notion that the world is a collection of independent entities, but instead an interconnected system of realities containing time and space, body and mind, which he labelled the Absolute.

Our belief is that a runner can inhabit two worlds at once, the real and the imaginary, both contained within the same universe, and in moments of clarity, can transcend the boundaries between these two realms.

The artwork conveys the exact moment the runner reaches a transcendent state, and crosses the boundary into FH Bradley’s “Absolute” world, where mind & body, time & space are in perfect harmony.
